Build UK recognises this course as meeting the required standard for all managers working on Build UK sites. This course is designed for Construction managers, project managers, site managers and supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Clients, Principal Designers and other construction professionals would also benefit from attending this course.

The refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the five-day SMSTS or subsequent refresher course and hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Evidence must be provided to SHEQ Services of their eligibility.
If a delegate cannot provide a copy of their certificate, the online card checker can be used to establish if a delegate currently holds a valid SMSTS certificate.
If an individual cannot be located on the system and no evidence of their certificate can be found, they will have to attend the full SMSTS course.
Failure to attend the refresher course prior to the expiry of an existing certificate will require delegates to re-enter the scheme by completing the full SMSTS course if they wish to remain in the scheme.
This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations. In addition you will be required to undertake some self-study outside of the course. You will be continuously assessed and required to successfully complete a multiple-choice test.
Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
This qualification must be renewed every five years by attending another SMSTS Refresher course.
