The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places a responsibility on all employers and business owners to provide employees with adequate fire safety training. Additionally article 18 of the order places a requirement for the Responsible Person to appoint one or more 'Competent Persons' to assist with fire safety and emergency evacuations in the event of fire.

The one-day course is for delegates who have already completed the full Managing Safely course. To be eligible to take the Refresher course, delegates must do so within three years of completing Managing Safely
